Introduction to Practical Competitive Pistol Shooting

Class Overview:This class is geared towards the 1st time or newer match shooter to get started in, or to better understand, practical shooting matches.
While the class will focus on USPSA/IPSC matches, the concepts presented will apply to other practical shooting events including IDPA, GSSF, Steel Challenge, and 3 gun matches.

Cost: $20.00 due at time of class. However Pre-registration at Bullseye Range is recommended.

Class size limited to 10 students.

Age:  21 or older, 20 and under with legal guardian
Approximately a two hour and thirty minute class

Saturday, January 13 2017 4:30-9:30pm

The classroom component will include the following topics:

  • Basic range and safety procedures
  • An overview of USPSA rules
  • What are the required equipment you will need for a match
  • A review of the different equipment divisions and classifications
  • What to expect at your first match.
  • How to plan and shoot a stage
  • Local matches that are available

The classroom component will be followed by a session on the range.
While in the range there will be a step by step walk through of several sample stages.
After each walk through, the students will have an opportunity to ask questions and live fire the stages.

Requirements:

  • Eye and Ear protection
  • Comfortable attire
  • Closed toe shoes
  • A pistol
  • Strong side holster (optional but highly recommended)
  • 2 or more magazines or other reloading devices for the pistol
  • 50 rounds of ammunition

***All of the required shooting equipment is available for rent and/or purchase at the range
