Bullseye Instructor, Owner/Instructor at DAM Defense
Kari’s journey into the world of personal safety and firearms training began with a simple realization: she wanted to be prepared to protect herself and her family. After experiencing a crime at her own home, she decided to overcome her fear of firearms and pursue training in both defensive shooting and situational awareness. What started as a personal mission quickly grew into a passion for helping others build the same confidence and peace of mind.
Believing that every law-abiding citizen has the right and the responsibility to take an active role in their own safety, Kari founded DAM Defense to provide practical, approachable training for everyday people. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes awareness first, avoidance whenever possible, and responsible defensive skills when necessary.
Kari has been a member of the Bullseye Women’s Shooting Club since 2016 and became the group’s leader in 2023. She joined the Bullseye Shooting Range staff in 2026, where she partners with the range to offer DAM Defense training programs while also serving as an instructor for Bullseye classes. She is also an active competitive shooter.
Her certifications include NRA Basic Pistol Instructor, NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® Instructor, STOP THE BLEED® Instructor, ARCURI Situational Awareness Specialist, Certified AVIRT Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer, and A Girl & A Gun Range Safety Officer.
Kari is passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment where new and experienced shooters alike can develop practical skills, increase their confidence, and become better prepared to protect themselves and the people they care about.
