Handgun Classes

Handguns 101

Class Overview: Students who have little or no experience with handguns will be introduced to the basics of firearms safety, nomenclature and marksmanship. This is approximately a three-hour course that will give the basic knowledge and skills you need to begin the proper use of a handgun. Students will have the opportunity to shoot various calibers and types of handguns. If desired, the student can bring their own handgun to shoot during the class.

Concealed Carry

Class Overview: Successful completion of this course allows you the opportunity to apply to the State of Kansas to be a concealed carry permit holder. The class includes an introduction to handgun shooting that addresses Kansas law, street threats, and basic handgun safety to develop judgmental shooting skills. Instruction is provided by an NRA Certified and State of Kansas approved Instructor.

Womens Handgun 101

Class Overview: This course is designed for ladies only. Whether you’re an avid shooter, or have never fired a gun, this class will take you step by step through the basics of marksmanship, safety, and understanding in the differences in types of pistols and their function.  Instructors encourage you to bring any questions that you have ever had about firearms or self-defense. Students will have the opportunity to shoot various common calibers and types of handguns. If desired, the student can bring in their own handgun and ammunition to shoot during this class.

Rifle Classes

Long Range Precision Rifle 1

Class Overview:If you have ever wanted to be able to make that 1000 yard shot everybody talks about, this is the class for you. Not only will we teach you how to make that shot, we teach you how to repeat it. This class is for any shooter wanting to learn how to shoot long range with an emphasis on Practical/Tactical (PRS Style) match shooting.

Basic Rifle

Class Overview: This course is designed to aid the shooter in understanding the function and uses of bolt action type rifles. We cover maintenance, shooting and clearing, ammunition, effective range and safe conditions for use.  An NRA basic rifle textbook is also provided and certificates are given at completion of this class.  This is a foundation course and highly recomended that the student take it before advancing into more progressive hunting, target, or self defense rifle courses.

Youth Rifle Class

Class Overview: This course is designed for youths only. This class will take you step by step through the basics of marksmanship, safety, and understanding of rifles and their function.  Instructors encourage you to bring any questions that you have ever had about rifles. Students will have the opportunity to safely and accurately shoot 22LR rifle.

NRA Classes

NRA Reloading

Class Overview: This course is eight hours in length and is conducted in a classroom. Each student is taught reloading safety; center fire cartridge components; using the reloading manual and reloading data; equipment; and the metallic cartridge reloading process. Students will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook, the Basic Reloading Student Exam, a course completion certificate, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure.

NRA Instructor Course

Class Overview: The NRA Home Safety and Pistol instructor Course is designed for individuals that wish to begin a path to teaching others about firearms. Candidates will learn policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, methodology, use of training teams and training aids, building a budget, organizing a class, and finally preparing to teach. Candidates will be working in teams and helping each other with prepared activities.

Private Instruction

Class Overview: We train shooters at all levels from beginning, basic instruction to advanced skill building.  Our instructors can help you on the use of the handgun that you have chosen and provide you a wealth of shooting tips and practices to improve your performance.
